Al Qaeda's Latest Attack

I jokingly remarked to a friend yesterday..."have you heard how desperate Al Qaeda is now? A recent statement issued from the terrorist organization took responsibility for the Hurricane Katrina and the destruction in Louisiana."

Well, perhaps it hasn't come to that yet, but I sure bet they wish they could make that statement and get a way with it!

Seriously though, my heart and prayers go out to all those hurt by the recent hurricane. Sometimes we think our nation is so advanced that nothing can hurt us, but we forget how powerful our God is! Perhaps this is a humbling reminder that we are today what we are only by the grace and sovereign plan of God.

Thoughts from Charles Schultz

I know it's been a while since I posted. :-P I'm back in Korea, but return to the states again in 2.5 weeks.

Dad sent me the following philosophy of Charles Schultz, the creator of the "Peanuts" comic strip. It really makes you think!

You don't have to actually answer the questions. Just read straight through, and you'll get the point.

1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.

2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.

3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America contest.

4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.

5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winner for best actor and actress.

6. Name the last decade's worth of World Series winners.

How did you do?

The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday.

These are no second-rate achievers. They are the best in their fields.

But the applause dies. Awards tarnish. Achievements are forgotten.

Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.

Here's another quiz. See how you do on this one:

1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.

2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.

3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.

4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.

5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.

6. Name half a dozen heroes whose stories have inspired you.

Easier?

The lesson:

The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They are the ones that care.

"Don't worry about the world coming to an end today.

It's already tomorrow in Australia."

~Charles Schultz

Welcome to my blog!

Yes folks, I have finally set aside some time to get my website up to date! Hopefully with this blog it will remain relatively current while keeping all of you informed on the exciting events and deep thoughts in the life of yours truly. The following are a few of the categories I plan to include in my blog.

  • Latest Happenings
  • Photos
  • Quotes
  • Inspiring thoughts (seriously, please don't laugh)
  • Anything else that might cross my mind at a later time

I may program more features into the blog as I get the time, so check back every once in a while to see what's new. That way, If you don't come for the updates, at least you'll be current on the new features.

Final thought for the day:
